12 weeks

Today starts week 12 of being pregnant. I feel like I just found out and I'm almost a 1/3 of the way done. That's crazy.
Every Monday I get email updates from babycenter.com to let me know the size and progress of the baby. Mondays have become my favorite day.
This week, Baby is the size of a lime. That seems so big to me! It's major accomplishment this week is has reflexes! I sure do hope everything is going ok in there! Besides the fun it is just to read about Baby each week- I also know exactly what to pray for each week as it's developing. This week-I'm praying it's intestines and kidneys all work properly as they are beginning to do their job. I pray all it's fingers and toes start to bend perfectly. (ok Mom and Dad - I blame week 12 on my thumb- you didn't neglect me as a child!!)

In other news, I had a break down this week. One of my best friends has a 11 month old daughter and asked if I could watch her this week. No big deal, right?! Well I responded with lots of tears and a momentary (which may or may not still be going on) flip out of I'm not ready to be a mom. And I have no clue what to do with a baby!!!! Eeekkk!!!
I am going to console myself by saying every pregnant mom HAS to feel this way at some point. I cant be the only one.  Right?!
I'm just the one to blog about it on the Internet... Awesome...

  1. There's something about starting out on day #1 with your own baby that takes away the fear of what to do with a baby. It's just you and him/her and you either sink or swim. Your baby knows nothing other than what you say or do for it, so everything you do will be exactly right. No matter how much you love the other baby, you don't have that intimate history with her like you will with your own. So relax and know that you will be the PERFECT mama to your baby ~ right from the start. That's why God chose YOU to be its mama. No one else could be as perfect as you.
    I love you!

  2. I love the thumb realization. :) It is my request that you please (weekly) let us know what fun things to be praying for as our little baby is growing. Please and Thank you.
